Emerald Valley Turquoise Hollow Form Necklace with Green Apatite Beads
Materials:Sterling silver, turquoise, apatite beads
I ended the collection with this one because it pulls two greens together in a way I hadn't tried yet. The stone is a Emerald Valley turquoise, a soft green with warm patches of host rock running through it. The chain is a strand of faceted green apatite beads, small and sparkling, a shade lighter than the stone but from the same family. Wearing them together feels like looking at the same color through two different windows.
The pendant is a hand fabricated hollow form, one inch across, with my sand texture running all the way around the bezel. That texture catches the light in tiny points and gives the flat surface something to say. Patina finish lets the shadows settle in and pushes the green of the turquoise out toward you.
Emerald Valley turquoise comes from Nevada, a mine known for deep forest and grass greens. Green apatite gets its color from trace elements in the crystal, and the faceted cut on these beads picks up every bit of available light.
