This one has a line running all the way around it.

That's what makes it a wishing stone. An unbroken ring of quartz, naturally occurring, going all the way around the stone without breaking. The folklore says trace it with your finger, make a wish, then cast the stone into the sea or give it to someone who needs one.

I traced it. Then I built a ring around it instead.

The stone is a warm tan, softly triangular. I framed it in sterling silver with a scalloped border that catches the patina beautifully — dark in the texture, bright at the edges. The wide flat band grounds the whole thing so the stone gets the attention it deserves.
