A friend found this one on the beach and saved it for me. That's a whole kind of gift right there — someone walking along the water and thinking of you.
This is a wishing stone — a beach stone with an unbroken line of quartz running all the way around it. Trace the line, make a wish, cast it into the sea or give it to someone you love. That's the folklore anyway. But this one has so much going on that throwing it back was just wrong.
It's a large warm yellow stone and has a bold quartz line running through it — the kind of patterning that took the ocean a very long time to make. I set it in sterling silver with a textured wide band, beaded edges, and a deep oxidized patina that makes the stone's color pop even more than it already does.
This is a statement ring for sure.
