Dark Beach Stone Necklace | Sterling Silver Pendant Handmade on Cape Cod

Some stones stop you mid-walk. This was one of them.

It's a wishing stone — a beach stone with an unbroken line running all the way around it. But what makes this one different is that you can actually feel it. The quartz line is raised, something you trace with your thumb without even thinking about it. The folklore says find an unbroken ring on a stone, make a wish, then cast it into the sea or give it to someone who needs one.

I set it instead.

The stone is dark gray, almost charcoal, smooth and flat with that ridge running diagonally across the face. I framed it in sterling silver with a rope-style border and an oxidized patina that makes the whole thing feel like it came from somewhere with a story. The curb chain has a patina too — nothing about this one is shiny for the sake of it.
