This stone was a gift. A friend of mine — also an artist — found it and thought of me. That's the kind of thing that happens when the people in your life know what you pay attention to.
It's a wishing stone — a beach stone with an unbroken line of quartz running all the way around it. Trace it with your finger, make a wish, then cast it into the water or give it to someone you love. The line on this one is easy to find, a deep reddish brown stone with just enough cream at the edges to make it feel like it has layers.
I set it in sterling silver with a triple coil band that's as comfortable as it is good looking — the kind of ring you forget you're wearing until you catch a glimpse of it. The patina deepens the detail in the coils and the bezel, pulling everything together.
