The set includes three rings — two smooth bands and one with a dotted texture that gets me every time. The dots are gently impressed into the surface of the half round band — the recesses sit around each dot, which is where the patina pools and darkens, making the pattern really come forward. To the touch it is mostly smooth, just the lightest suggestion of texture. That smoothness is what reminds me of the stones I pick up on Cape Cod beaches, worn down by the water until they are almost silky. The dots rising up through the patina feel like something you would find in the sand.
All three rings wear well together or scattered across different fingers.
