This stone is dark and smooth, which makes it great for carving.
I carved a single row of a checkered pattern all the way around the stone, so the design circles it like a band. It is the same on both sides, meeting itself at the edges. Simple and completely intentional. The stone has a sterling silver grommet at the top, textured with a line pattern and finished with a patina. The suede cord threads right through and knots as the bail.
The stone is exactly as I found it on a Cape Cod beach. I never alter the shape.
