Cape Cod Beach Stone Pendant — Hand Carved — One of a Kind
Materials:sterling silver, beach stone. suede cord
This stone caught my attention because of its shape — long, tapered, and smooth in the hand. It had two good sides, which gave me an idea.
On one side I hand carved three circles directly into the stone, graduating in size. On the other side I drilled four small recesses and set sterling silver granules into the stone, textured with my sand finish so they sit mostly flush with the surface — quiet little details that you notice when the light catches them. The grommet is sterling silver with a line texture and an oxidized patina, drilled through the stone at one end and knotted to the suede cord.
Turn it over and you get a completely different piece.
The stone is exactly as I found it on a Cape Cod beach. I never alter the shape.
The suede cord is knotted to the bail and the hook clasp is handmade — forged sterling silver, riveted to the cord.
