New Year, New Work

By Laura Jane Bouton
New Year, New Work

The New Year always brings a desire to meet new goals or reach for new dreams. I have been creating art jewelry for about 9 years now. For this years goal, I felt it was time to create a new website and as always new exciting jewelry designs. Even though some of you may be familiar with my work, I thought I would take a moment with my first blog post to introduce myself.

My metalsmith path was created by a life long passion for jewelry and a need to find something of my own. I am self taught and began experimenting with various metalsmith techniques in 2009. In December 2011 I opened my first online shop to sell my jewelry designs. Of course, my first sales were to family members but still very exciting. I lived in Italy for many years, and then in 2013 I moved to Massachusetts to be near my family.  I set up my studio here on Cape Cod and I am very lucky that I can continue my metalsmith journey.

I am very grateful for all the support from my family and followers that allow me to dedicate my time and energy to something that brings me joy and happiness and has helped me grow as a person and as an artist.

Stay tuned for more good things to come.......

Thank you LjBjewelry

I just found you through Pinterest in Logan Airport after visiting my son in Boston, and noticed you’re only an hour from here. I have some experience in metalwork from community college classes and setting up a home studio. I’d love to come back and take a class from you someday. Your work is beautiful!

I started metalsmithing in 2013 after a long corporate I.T. career. Your work is beautiful. Your designs are simple and graceful. Your handiwork is so well finished. I aspire to your level of skill! Best wishes!
